Luke + Jenny's Wedding | The Rehearsal Day

The weather on the day before Jenny and Luke were wed was unusual for July, but perhaps not for Monterey. The sky was overcast, though still bright, and a chilly breeze blew all day long. There were many last minute details that needed attending to, so the Smith Ladies and Mom and I headed over to the Leding's home early to help finish things up. The Leding's home is so lovely, and I couldn't help but snap a few photos as we went about the day.
The view from their backyard...
Mr. Darcy, watching the hustle and bustle going on around him.
Last minute seating arrangements being thought through. The chocolate truffle filled favors, all ready to be placed onto the tables.
Bridesmaids' gifts all finished and tied up with bright red ribbon.
Sweet Jenny and dear Mom!
Jenny and I ran a few errands halfway through the afternoon. We purchased a few odds and ends, along with white ribbon for the little girls pearl headbands. They had arrived with mint green ribbon, so we unwound the green and rewound them with the white! Two of the lovely Smith ladies, diligently working away! Heather did a fantastic job steaming all of the wrinkles out of the bridesmaids' dresses! It was a huge job! At last, we all headed over to begin the rehearsal! The Naval Academy was a beautiful place to have a wedding! The rose garden was beautifully tended and the grounds well cared for. I enjoyed walking through the low hedgerows, admiring the flowers, watching the various birds, and listening to the peacock.
The rehearsal itself went smoothly. Everyone's anticipation for the following day was high, and excitement filled the air.
Afterward, as the sun began to set, the bridal party and their families and out of town guests piled into their cars and drove over to P. F. Chang's for a delicious meal of Chinese cuisine. It was the perfect end to a day filled to the brim with wedding preparations!
